Denim Dye Pure Concentrated

Ideal for Denim Jeans that have faded and also on cotton, for tie dye etc. Safe and easy alternative to Indigo dyeing.

Traditional Method (known as exhaust dyeing)

  1. Weigh fabric dry weight, then thoroughly wash, rinse and leave damp.
  2. Measure 2 litres of warm water (30°C) for every 100g dry weight of fabric into the dye bath.
  3. From the Shade Guide table below, weigh out the required amount of dye for the shade required.
  4. In a separate container, dissolve the required amount of dye in warm water until fully solubilised.
  5. Immerse fabric in dye bath and agitate well.
  6. Slowly raise the temperature of the dye bath to 60¡C over 45 minutes. OR if this is not possible use hot water at step2 and leave in this water to soak for at least 1 hour.
  7. Move the material through the liquid every few minutes to ensure even dyeing and until the shade required is achieved.
  8. Finish with a cool rinse and then a thorough hot wash (adding 2g per litre of Colsperse scouring and rinsing agent or detergent to the water), rinse, dry and iron.
