TRANSFERRING INKJET PRINTED IMAGES USING Colourcraft Colours & Adhesives Ltd IMAGE MAKER
This medium enables the transfer of colour or black and white images produced from newspapers, magazines and photographs using an inkjet printer. The images can be transferred onto fabrics or some papers.
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
· Image Maker
· Newspaper to put underneath you work
· A soft, wide paint brush and a smaller brush
· A pot of water to wash your brushes in
· Small sponges or paintbrushes
· Scissors
· A spoon
· Kitchen towel/soft cloth
· Inkjet prints
· Paper or Fabric
· Gesso if required
· An iron
POINTS TO REMEMBER
Image Transfer Medium is tacky – be careful pages do not become stuck together. Protect previous pages by inserting a sheet of scrap paper behind the page currently being worked on.
· Wash brushes immediately after using image maker using soap and warm water.
GETTING STARTED
· The image must be an inkjet print, you will achieve the best results if you:
· Use good quality copy paper
· Have a good quality print e.g. best rather than draft
· It may be necessary to flip the image over before printing as it will be reversed when it is transferred onto paper or fabric. This is important if you are using text.
