(see separate instructions)

  • A new range of low temperature (60°C), concentrated liquid fabric dyes
  • The 20 intermixable colours are highly concentrated producing vibrant shades. They are easy to use and are excellent for producing both hand painted watercolour and other effects on fabric
  • They produce excellent effects on dyed backgrounds using discharge and resist printing, for stencilling, block printing, and screen printing. They are an excellent substitute for the HE system

Instructions for Immersion Dyeing

Per 50gms Dry Fabric in 1 Litre of Water

Dye: 28mlsSalt: 65gFixer: 25g
  1. Weigh fabric to be dyed (dry weight) then wash in Colourcraft Colsperse, a low foaming Scouring Agent, or detergent and leave damp.
  2. Measure 1 litre of warm water (30°c) and place in to the dye bath.
  3. Add the dye to the dye bath, followed by the salt and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. In a separate container, dissolve the required amount of fixer in a small quantity of hot water and, once the solution is clear, stir into the dye bath.
  5. Put the damp fabric into the dye bath and slowly raise the temperature to 60°C over 30 minutes. Dye at this temperature for up to 1 hour.
  6. Move the material through the liquid every few minutes to ensure even dyeing and until the shade required is achieved.
  7. Finish with a cool rinse and then a thorough hot wash (adding 2g per litre of Colsperse scouring and rinsing agent, or detergent to the water), rinse, dry and iron.

Helpful Hints

As fabrics vary in weight, ensure there is sufficient water to allow free movement of material at least 20 times the weight of the material.

Safety in Use

Care should be taken when handling all dyes and associated chemicals – disposable gloves and protective clothing should be worn when necessary. Precautions should be taken to avoid accidental ingestion, inhalation and skin and eye contact. Keep containers closed and away from children.
