Vinyl Sulfone Dyes Powder

Colourfast Dyes for Natural Fabrics

Cotton, Calico, Viscose, Linen, Rayon, & Silk

  • A new range of low temperature (60°C), concentrated fabric dyes – extremely easy to use – produce brilliant, permanent, light fast results.
  • Twenty intense, intermixable colours producing excellent effects on dyed backgrounds using discharge and resist printing, for stencilling, block printing, and screen printing. They are an excellent substitute for the HE system.

Instructions for Immersion Dyeing

  1. Weigh fabric to be dyed (dry weight) then wash in Colsperse Scouring Agent, or detergent and leave damp.
  2. Measure 2 litres of warm water (30°c) for every 100g dry weight of fabric into the dye bath.
  3. *For deep shades use 10g (2 x level teaspoons) of the dye crystals. For light and medium shades – see the table below. Premix with a small quantity of hot water. Stir into the dye bath followed by the salt. Stir until dissolved.
  4. In a separate container, dissolve the required amount of fixer in a small quantity of hot water and, once the solution is clear, stir into the dye bath.
  5. Put the damp fabric into the dye bath and slowly raise the temperature to 60°C over 30 minutes. Dye at this temperature for up to 1 hour.
  6. Move the material through the liquid every few minutes to ensure even dyeing and until the shade required is achieved.
  7. Finish with a cool rinse and then a thorough hot wash (adding 2g per litre of Colsperse scouring and rinsing agent or detergent to the water), rinse, dry and iron.

*UREA – Whilst not essential, Urea is an excellent dye solubiliser when used in any dyeing process and, if used, should be added before the dye.

Safety in Use

Care should be taken when handling all dyes and associated chemicals – disposable gloves and protective clothing should be worn when necessary. Precautions should be taken to avoid accidental ingestion, inhalation and skin and eye contact. Keep containers closed and away from children.

All dyes supplied by Colourcraft Colours & Adhesives Ltd have been approved as safe for use and none are subject to either the German Ordinance or the 19th Amendment of the Council Directive 76/769/EEC banning the use of certain azo dyes. They do not contain any dissolvable heavy metals.
